A Chance for Pilipino Clubs to Battle it Out and Take Home 1st Place!
Keeping in the spirit of Friendship Games, Sportsfest and NIT, Trinite LLC proudly brings you CPAC (California Pilipino-American Collegiate) Dance Competition. This is the start of another yearly tradition for Pilipino-American organizations.
The dance community is continuously growing at a fast pace. More and more dance groups are developing, trying to establish themselves in the dance community. This is especially true with Pilipino-American clubs in colleges/universities that have their own hip-hop dance team. There are already established teams such as UCI Kaba Modern and Long Beach PAC Modern; and up and coming dance teams like Cal Poly Pomona's Barkada Modern, UC Davis' MK Modern and CSUN's Fasmode, just to name a few.
CPAC Dance Competition is not an ordinary hip-hop competition you're used to. It gives the Pilipino club's hip-hop teams the chance to experience the thrill of performing and competing in front of 1400 people. Teams also get to score some points by bringing their supporters in the crowd to cheer them on! There will be sections assigned for each team and the loudest section(s) help out their team by earning them points on the score sheet. So come and check it out! It's going to be a fun and lively competition that you get to participate in. Don't miss out!

Team Millennia's Fundraiser, We're Bringing Vegas to You! David Yi
You watch the pros play on the World Series of Poker. Your friends (if you're a guy mostly) talk about some of their best and worst bets at a high stakes game. Are you in on these conversations? Well here's your chance to put your poker know-how to good use! Put yourself against some of the notorious poker sharks of the Trinite Family! Many members on the team love to gamble; it comes with the environment. But if you're worried that you'll just be gambling your night away with some complete strangers, think again!
This is a great opportunity for you to meet and get to know both members and friends of the Trinite dance companies. Popular casino games including blackjack, Texas hold'em, and craps will be provided. The foxy ladies of Team Millennia will be performing live to tickle your fancy. Even if your not that great at playing any of these games, your money will help fund multiple Trinite events and competitions throughout the year. We have a great lineup of prizes for the night, and buy-ins are only $10. So come on out, sit down with us, and we'll deal you some cards and exchange some chit chat. Why drive to Vegas, when we can SHOW YOU THE MONEY!!!
Check out the extensive prize list here!!!
If ever there was an event I wish I could take back, "So Fresh" would not be one of them. Although we didn't tech before hand on the awkward stage, we performed with confidence and trust in each other. The stage did catch us off guard in the beginning, but it worked to our advantage because it allowed us to really connect with our audience and get all up in their faces like BLAM!!!
But the most satisfying part of that night was knowing that we were part of a greater cause. The reason "So Fresh" was held was to create awareness of child trafficking in Asian countries to the American public. This event attracted many people of all ages and races, and accomplished its goal of creating awareness. Not one person who watched the documentary clip left unchanged. It is only a matter of time before child trafficking becomes an issue that the American public will take action against.
Through this experience, I learned that dancers can help draw a certain audience that no other category of society can attract. Much of the youth and college students who were present at "So Fresh" would not have been there if there weren't so many talented dance teams willing to perform. Knowing that our talents were being used to do more than just entertain is a very fulfilling feeling, and we as a team hope to continue to use our dancing for greater purposes.
Other performances at "So Fresh" included sets by Sickstep, 909, Barkada Modern and Common Ground.
